Description: The General Sir John Monash Scholarships are not limited by age, gender, or academic field of study. They may be taken up at any non-Australian university, subject to that university being considered to be amongst the global leaders in the chosen field of study. While no upper age limit is stipulated, Awards will be made to those whose major contribution to their field and to the community lies ahead of them. The Foundation supports postgraduate study programmes in any field. The Foundation will support Doctorates or Masters Degrees, but will not support a further undergraduate degree. The Scholarships are granted for the commencement of the study programme in the calendar year following the year of application and selection.

Availability: This scholarship is offered annually to 8 people. Open for applications until August 31, 2011.

Eligibility: This scholarship is for study in countries except Australia for those who have achieved Honours 1 or equivalent. Only citizens of Australia may apply.
